I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin magna cum laude, I traveled around the states and Europe for about a year an a half. Finally, I started teaching in an urban school in Milwaukee. The school was comprised of students 90% below the poverty level and 90% ethnic diversity. It was quite a challenge, but one I loved. Here, I taught second grade for 7 years. In this time I met my husband who moved to Milwaukee for two years for us. However, he hated the winters and convinced me to move west. It was a huge change moving from the city to this valley, but, as it turns out, one of the best choices I've ever made. This will be my fifth year teaching at Fraser Valley Elementry School. I've never been so impressed with a school, it's parents and the community.
